Give Me A Break?

So..... this is the story.....

We had just gotten back from the zoo, Scott took the boys to a friends birthday party while the ladies came home to order some food.

We got a  phone call from Scott telling us to go outside and look at the beautiful rainbow.

There is actually a slight double rainbow, so peaceful, sort of the "calm before the storm".

While outside we decided to carry my plants out so they could get some rain water.  Then it hit me or should I say I hit it.

The floor that is what I hit.  I stepped onto our marble floor with slightly wet feet an BAM! Down I went, it happens so fast, I am sure you have been there one minute you are on your feet and in a split second you are not.

I knew right away I hurt my wrist as I caught my whole fall on it.  Boy am I grateful that Mom, Rusti and Aunt Lea Ann were here with me and did they spring into action, bringing ice ect...

Rusti called Scott and he took me to the walk in clinic.  Being in a different country I was not sure what to expect but I must say I was impressed with the care we received.

Prices are posted for all to see.
The x-ray shows no obvious break thank goodness.  However there is tremendous localized pain with swelling so the Doctor did not want to just send me home.
As it turns out a soccer player also came in and he needed to see a hand surgeon so we were able to be examined by a hand specialist.  The specialist says that it may be broken on a very specific bone that I don't remember the name of and that if that bone is broken it often times does not show on x-ray for a week or longer.  At the same time if that bone is broken it is super important to not move it, so.....
I get to wear this lovely semi hard cast thing for one to two weeks and then after the swelling is down he will examine it further.  He mentioned that my arm will get itchy if it sweats ummmm yeah we live in Singapore and sweat all the time.  Give me a break :)

  1. Randi,Randi--Ouch! I can feel the pain half way around the world! And good thing you have all those nurse-maids there this week. I'm sure it won't slow you down!
