Grocery Shopping

We made some chocolate chip cookies yesterday and took them over to our neighbor.  I apologized to her because the color was off on the cookie as I have not yet found brown sugar in Singapore.

  She was excited to tell me that she did find some at a Chinese grocery store in the basement of a mall in Little India, she said you can get a whole cart full of groceries and it is really a lot cheaper than anywhere else in Singapore.

Today the boys and I hailed a cab and off we went to find the Chinese grocery store.  We did find it and it was a lot of fun!  First they have REALLY fresh fish, like it is killed on the spot and cut to your order.  We did not buy any fish but had fun looking at the fish options.

Second they had all kinds of fun Chinese food, some I recognized and some????? but it was fun to try and guess what it might be as long as we didn't think we had to actually eat it.

Oh, and they had Ben and Jerry's ice cream.....

Um  yeah you see that price!! We didn't buy the ice cream either.  But we did get a whole cart full of good and fun nutritious food for what seemed to me like a good price.  We will for sure be going back to our Little India Chinese store.

They have cart ramps here in Singapore because all of the malls and a lot of grocery stores are several stories, it is a bit like an escalator but it is a moving ramp and not stairs, you wheel your cart on and it magically locks into place and up you go or down which ever the case may be, it is kind of fun.
