We drove the car to Vivo City mall where you get on the tram to go over to the Island, amazingly we parked in exactly the right spot in the car park.
Sentosa is known as Singapore's play ground and I must say it is very beautiful on the island with many flowers and palm trees and groomed beaches.
Scott and the boys decided to do the luge ride, you take a cable car up and ride a luge down so I sat on the beach and waited taking in the sun and warm breeze as I would just apply the break all the way down the hill anyway.
We went to lunch at a beach side restaurant and enjoyed some great food and ice cold water, it started raining while we were at lunch so we were in no hurry to leave the restaurant.
all was good until we went to pay the bill and the waiter informed us that their machine would not take our credit card, so we gave them the other card which the machine also rejected. Uh Oh we know we have no balance on the cards so what is up with this? We of course did not have enough cash on us to pay the bill as we had not yet gone to the ATM machine for the week. After a while the waiter came back and told us that the problem is their machine and not our cards as it also was not taking another customers card. So we waited and finally they got the machine up and running allowing us to enjoy the rest of the island.
There was a little foot bridge over to some towers that you can climb so we decided to go across the bridge and climb the tower, it was an amazing view from the top of the ship harbor and some nice foliage.
and we found that we were at an interesting geographical point of the world
We were getting tired and we have learned not to push ourselves too hard so we decided that we were done for the day and that we would come again to see the rest of the Island so we only saw the Merlion from a distance, but here is a picture for you. We will explore the Merlion another day.
Dinner was good and all in all it was a fun day of rest and play.
Sounds like you're really getting a handle on things over there. Figuring out how to get around and knowing your limits are crucial, and you also got to have a great time!
ReplyDeleteWe're thinking of and praying for all of you. :)
