Fox Glacier~ New Zealand Day 6

Fox Glacier, viewed by over 1,000 people a day during the busy season.  Today while we were there to see it we saw maybe 20 people.

Mineral pools were around from the glacier and this particular river bed has water in it at different times during the day.

We have found that we really like vacationing to places right at the end of their "off season".  There are fewer people, less traffic, the businesses are happy to see you and things are cheaper.  Granted the flowers are not all in full bloom but honestly the beauty is amazing with out the flowers.

After viewing the glacier we had a six hour drive again today.  Scott has been amazing as he has driven everyday, the roads are ever changing and the scenery simply never ends.

The mountain lakes are so clear and very large!  This lake stretched for miles and miles I would guess 15 miles so keeping your eye on the road is hard.  New Zealand knows this and they provide many pull over spots for you to take in the sights.

We have learned that you just should not even put the camera away because as soon as you do, there is yet another great view.  The beauty of Gods creation surrounds you on all sides all the time in New Zealand.

We again were driving into the sunset tonight.

When we arrived at our stopping place we were all exhausted but fulfilled.  Then.... the office lights were not on for us to check in, after walking around a bit, we checked our printed reservation to discover that we made a mistake in out itinerary and we actually were not expected at this place until tomorrow night.  Uh-oh, this is a small town with all of the lights off this time on a Sunday night.  We drove down the block found one Motel with the lights on and are now warm and content in our room.
